ok, this is the first time i actually cooked somethin hard..i had to first make the red chili oil..
ingredients
1 cup of olive oil
6 dried chiles de arbol, lightly toasted and crushed
6 cloves garlic,finely chopped
pinch of salt
3 sprigs fresh thyme,leaves removed
blend all ingredients including the thyme leaves in a blender untilย ย smooth..strain through a fine mesh strainer into a bowl
ok so i got all the ingredients into the blender..blended them..unfortunately we didnt have a strainer..so i tried using a coffee filter..hmm..didnt really work at all..ended up wasting some sauce not much but i hate the thought. then i tried a napkin..the napkin ended sucking all the sauce into it instead of letting it drip through it..wasted some more sauce…upset of how this was NOT working..i walked up to mom and got her to help me..we ended up putting it into a rag and squeezing the sauce out of it ..ok thats done..i put the sauce aside untill i needed it
now its thyme ๐ to shell the shrimp 24 of them and then put them into an oven proof bowl..then u put some salt and pepper into it drizzle some olive oil onto the shrimp, add crushed garlic, and toss to coat…whatever that means ๐ now i know what toss to coat means…i prolly should have done that.. ok..roast the shrimp in the oven untill pink and cooked through, about 4 to 5 min, drizzle generously with the red chili oil and sprinkle with thyme and toasted garlic chips..now as the shrimp was cooking i did some garlic chips
garlic chips
one cup of olive oil
8 cloves of garlic,thinly sliced
salt
heat the oil ย in a small skillet untill it begins to shimmer.add garlic and cook untill the slices begin to brown and curl.remove with slotted spoon to a plate lined with paper towels and season with salt..i got annoyed cause the garlic slices were not PERFECT…some of them werent even slices…small thing to get annoyed by ๐ hahha so FINALLY they were ready..me mom and noni sat down to eat some..i ย took a bite…and they were not as good as i hoped..lets just say i got VERY dissapointed..aka i started to cry.. ๐ haha mom came in and saved the day by putting parmesan cheese on them and cooking them a bit more…needless to say..cheese fixes EVERYTHIN..:D ย phew ..what the next dish gunna be i wonder??
